What to check
This browser tool uses Tesseract.js for plain text. It does not use the desktop app's OS recognition or layout model. Handwriting, other languages, complex columns and table structure are outside its tested scope. Small or blurred text can be missed or misread.
Recognition uses Tesseract.js. Downloadable engine and language licences are included with the OCR assets.
Questions
Does the image leave this browser?
No. Recognition runs in a local web worker. The first run downloads the OCR engine and English language data from this site. Your image and recognised text are not sent to a conversion service.
Why does the first run take longer?
Your browser needs to load the OCR engine and language data before it can read the image. Later runs can reuse cached assets. Speed depends on your device and the image size.
Does it preserve tables or translate text?
No. This tool extracts plain English text. It does not translate, recover dependable table cells or promise the structured output available through the desktop workflow.
