What you capture never leaves your device. This page says exactly what does.
What stays on your device
- The pixels you select. They are read in memory and discarded.
- The text recognised from them, and the structure the model gives it.
- Your timeline, in a SQLite database in your app data folder, kept for the period you choose in Settings and deletable at any time.
- Documents you drop on the Documents window. They are read in memory; only the text is kept, in your timeline under the file name.
- Cleaning. Secrets and personal details are found on your device, and the cleaners that rewrite use the same local model. The original and the cleaned text both stay in your timeline.
- Your settings and your weekly usage counters.
Text recognition is done by your operating system (Apple Vision, Windows.Media.Ocr) or by Tesseract on Linux. Structuring and cleaning are done by a language model that runs locally on your computer. There is no hosted model and no API that receives your captures.
Every network call the app makes
| When | Where to | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| First launch, once | https://www.lass0.com/models/… | A download request for the model file. No identifiers. The file is checked against a SHA-256 fingerprint before use. |
| When you activate Pro | https://www.lass0.com/api/licence/activate | Your licence key and a one-way hash of a device identifier. |
| While Pro is active, when online | https://www.lass0.com/api/licence/validate | Your signed entitlement and the device hash, to renew it. |
| When the app hits an error | Sentry (our error reporting, EU region) | A fixed error code, the app version and your operating system. Never captured text, file paths or images; events are scrubbed before they are sent. |
| Only if you press Send in the feedback form | Sentry user feedback | The message you wrote, the email if you gave one, the app version and your operating system. Never your captures or timeline. |
The app does not check for updates by itself yet; you download new versions from this site. If that changes, this table will say so before it ships.
The website
The site stores what it needs to run your licence: your email, your subscription status with Stripe, your licence key (encrypted), and a one-way hash for each device you activate. Payments are handled by Stripe, which sees your card details; we never do. The footer feedback form sends your message, and your email if you give one, to Sentry. We use no advertising trackers.
Your choices
Delete a capture or your whole timeline from the Timeline screen. Remove a device from your account page. Cancel from the billing portal. To delete the data we hold about you, write to [email protected].
