Markdown table generator
Convert CSV or spreadsheet cells to a Markdown table. Edit the cells, check the preview, or copy a pipe table back to Excel as TSV.
No account. No document upload. The first row becomes the header. Choose CSV for comma-separated data. Up to 200,000 characters.
How to use it
- Paste CSV, tab-separated cells or a Markdown pipe table.
- Choose the input format, build the table and edit any cells.
- Copy Markdown or switch to TSV for your spreadsheet.
Up to 1,000 rows, 50 columns and 200,000 input characters.
What to check
The first row is the header. Merged cells, cell styling and formulas are not evaluated. Each row must have the same number of cells. Markdown inline syntax stays as text; <br> becomes a line break. Spreadsheet formula protection is on by default.
Questions
How do I paste cells from Excel?
Copy a rectangular range, choose Tab-separated cells and paste it into the input. The first row becomes the Markdown header.
Can I turn Markdown back into Excel cells?
Yes. Choose Markdown as the input format, build the table, then select TSV output. Copy or download it and review the cells in your spreadsheet. This tool does not create .xlsx files.
What happens to formulas?
The tool does not calculate them. By default, TSV output prefixes likely formulas with an apostrophe to keep spreadsheet apps from executing them. Ordinary signed numbers are preserved. You can turn this protection off for trusted input.
